As an organisation we also look to foster networks and natural
support for disabled people in the community. We do this to
strengthen the opportunities for both disabled people and the
community as a whole.
At Gracelands Taumarunui Service we aim:
To create opportunities for individuals to interact within
the community
To focus on enhancing peoples' quality of life and
experiences
To increase individuals skill base and independence
To support individuals to attain paid mainstream employment.
To support community integration
How we do it?
Job match to local opportunities
Provide information about local courses and other agencies
Offer structured sessions to enable clients to develop
skills towards work
Support clients with job interviews
Foster linkages within the community
We support the development of individualised plans for
clients to assist them to achieve their goals
How to access our Taumarunui service
Using our service is easy. We are contracted by the Ministry of
Social Development so there is no direct cost to the client.
Clients can be referred by another agency or can contact us
directly.
Before a client begins with us they will be able to ask
questions and we will tell them more about the service.
We will need to be provided with some basic information about
the client so we can complete the referral process. We will then
work with the client to support them towards achieving their
employment goals.
