SKILL PROGRAMME

The activities are community based and offer a wide range of recreational and leisure opportunities. Individualised programmes are established for all participants which reflect the agreed goals and interests of the person. Our programmes are generally located in the heart of the community, but we also have dedicated Marae and farm-based programmes.

Our staff have considerable experience working with people with disabilities; especially those with high support needs. Specialist staff employed by Gracelands also provide additional skills and resources. These include Occupational Therapists, Activity Facilitators and Service Advisors.

Within the Skill programme we aim:

To create opportunities for participants to interact within the community

To focus on enhancing people's quality of life and experiences.

To increase participants skill base and independence

To have fun and foster friendships
